Creative Knockouts - Spring is in the Air

There's a new challenge up on the Creative Knockouts blog, and the theme this week is 'Spring is in the Air'.  We are lucky to have the amazing Art by MiRan sponsoring this challenge.  I chose to use Florina, and I think you'll agree that with all of the flowers she's holding, it suits the theme perfectly!

The Copics I used are: skin - E000, E00, E04, E11 7 R20; hair - E35, YR23, Y21 & Y32; flowers - RV10, RV13, RV14, Y17, G00, BG32, BG34, B00, B02 & B05.

For the card I used Bazzill dot paper & October Afternoon (Woodland Park) paper. For the butterflies & cut out additional butterflies, used stickles (stardust) on them, and added them with wings turned up on the same exact butterflies.  Pretty simple, but exactly what I was going for:)

Please take a look at our challenge, and check out the other amazing DT work on the Creative Knockouts blog.  Have a great day!

Oh, I am so happy today!  I finally get to share a project I finished a few weeks ago, using an image by one of my most favorite designers!   The image I chose for my guest spot is Peony Kimono Maiden.  It's an image I've loved since I first discovered her artwork, and this was the perfect occasion to use her.

The Copics I used are: skin - E000, E00, E04, E21 and R20; hair - E31, E35 and E37; robe - R00, R01, R02, R08, BG93, G000, G21, G85 and G99; flowers - YR23, YR31, Y32, YR000, BG000, BG18, BG09 and BG57; leaves - YG93, YG97 and C1; butterflies - R00, R01, R02, R08, R81, R85, R89, BG000, BG01, BG05; YR000, YR23, YR31, Y32, V93, V95 and V99.

Bikini Season

Good morning everyone!  I'm hosting the Karleigh Sue Inspiration Blog today:)  Since yesterday was the first official day of spring (though here in Arizona, it's been warm for a while), that means summer is right around the corner.  And you know what that means, right?  Bikini Season!  That's the name of this adorable digi, and you can find her here.

The Copics I used are: skin - E000, E00, E04, E21 & R20; hair - E08, E19, YR14 & YR18; lips - RV52 & RV55; eyes - G00, G05 & G09; sneakers - C1, C3, C5, C7, RV13 & RV14; clothes - YR02, YR14, YR16, Y00, Y02, Y06 & Y08; weights - W0, W3 & W5.

I went with a Clean & Simple design for this card.  The sentiment is on the paper, and I didn't feel it needed much else.  Just a little strip of hearts, and a banner from a LaLa Land die, and that is it!   Thanks for taking a look!  Be sure to check out the Karleigh Sue Inspiration blog and be a follower of it so you see all of the inspiration that the fabulous DT members post.

I think I need to go do a workout now...

I have another card to share with you this morning (busy morning - I love it!).  Today kicks off the new Anything Goes Challenge on the Art by MiRan Challenge Blog.  Since Easter is quickly approaching, I chose to use Honey Bunny and make this cute card:

CC & CC - Something Yummy to Eat or Drink!

Good Morning everyone!  Today's new challenge over at the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges blog is 'Something Yummy to Eat or Drink'.  Our awesome sponsor is Deedee's Digis.  They have a great assortment of images, and such cute designs!  I chose to use Sweet Treats.

I found this to really be quite a challenge, as I've pretty much colored digis of people (with an occasional flower or animal thrown in).  The shading I normally do on a person's face is so different than coloring this adorable cupcake, so I admit it took a few tries.  But I am pleased with the result!

The Copics I used are: E40, E71, E77, BG13, RV02, RV52, RV55, RV81, RV85 & RV89.  I used a white gel pen for his cheeks, and added pink stickles (cotton candy) for the icing.  How cute?!?

For the card I layered paper from the Bo Bunny 'Sweet Tooth' line.  When you have a chance, head over to the Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenges blog to check out all of the DT makes, and enter your own card with Something Yummy to Eat or Drink!

For the card I used a quarter of a piece of Best Creations die-cut paper(pink), green polka dot paper, and flowers from Wild Orchid.  I placed a few pink flowers over the flowers on the paper for a little extra 'pop'.  Thanks for looking!  Hope you have an awesome day.  I'm off to work on a few DT projects:)

Creative Knockouts - In Stitches

Time for a new challenge on the Creative Knockouts blog. This week our challenge is 'In Stitches', using images by Inky Impressions.  I chose to use both Dance in the Rain and Umbrella LiLi.  Now, using this adorable image and perfect sentiment was the easy part..but stitches?  Me?  ok, now that was the challenging part.  You see, I'm not a sewer.  Not even close.  Like, I can barely sew a button on.  But, I'm not one to shy away from a challenge, so I took it on, and let me say, the stitching came out waaaaayyyy better than I expected!  What do you think?

The Copics I used to color her are: skin - E000, E0, E04, E11 and R11; hair - E31. E33, E35 and E37; coat/boots - YR24, YR31 and Y32, pants - B91, B95 and B97; shirt - BG32 and BG34; umbrella - RV52, RV55, RV19 and RV66.

Check it out - that's legitimate sewing right there, people!

All of the paper for the card are from a paper pack I bought at Michaels (Recollection), and a WeR crazy 8 punch.  For the stitching I broke out my WeR Sew Easy kit. I've had it for years, and I think I used it once.  Maybe twice.  Definitely not more than twice, lol.  It was easier than I remember!  I just ran the tool along the seam where the 2 papers meet, and hand stitched the thread through.  I might have to try it again soon.  I really like the effect.  I have all of the threads, and attachments, so I might as well start using them!  Note:  I said might;)  Anyway, I hope you'll join us over on the Creative Knockouts blog.  I'm excited to see everyone's stitches!

The Copics I used are; skin - E00, E04, E11 E21 and R20; hair - E08, E19, YR14 and YR18, dress - G000, G00, BG13 BG32 and BG34; sash - R01, R02 and R08.  I used Atyou Spica #19 for the stars.

For the card I used paper and sticker from Basic Grey's ' Fresh Cut' line, Bazzill cardstock, heart doily, LaLa Land dies, and flowers from my collection. Thanks for taking a peek.  And be sure to check out the Crafting by Designs Facebook Page too - my card will be featured there, and you'll find so much talent and inspiration.  Have an awesome day!
